Break-Even Calculators

Break-even calculators

Break-even is the line between a sale that costs you money and a sale that contributes. These calculators find that line for an order, for advertising spend, and for a store as a whole.

Two kinds of break-even

Order-level break-even asks whether a single sale covers what it cost to make and deliver it. Business-level break-even asks how many of those sales it takes to cover the costs that exist whether you sell anything or not — rent, software, salaries, your Shopify plan.

The first is a subtraction; the second is a division. Both start from the same figure: contribution per order. Work that out first, and the rest follows.

The Break-Even ROAS Calculator handles the order-level case where the variable cost you are testing is advertising.

These are being built to the same standard: published formula, stated assumptions and a review date. They have no URL until they are finished.
